Well go the new computer in it and did an oil change. It kept dying on the way home, so I turned up the idol a little. It seems to do really good now.

Two problems that I know of EGT valve error and speedo cable is very noisy.

Drove it to work this morning. It did good. The speedo cable got quite after a while.

Oil guage reads very low, but it runs great. I suspect a sensor or guage problem.

Gas guage does not work at all. It had 1/8th tank and filled it up and didn't move. May come alive after a few tanks of gas.

Temp guage reads very low even after warming up.

Not sure if the amp guage works.

All four of those guages are in a cluster - so maybe the problem is there. I know some fords use a big resistor on the back as a reference.

I went over a bump and the radio got much louder- I think two more speakers came alive. They didn't go in and out, so I'm not going to worry about it.

The turn signal switch was bent - I tried to straighten it and broke the handle off.

Decided to update a little.

Speedo cable is still annoying at time, but seems to be doing better. I hope to work on it soon.

Oil guage is reading good most of the time. I suspect it was just due to sitting.

Got to get the gas guage fixed ASAP. HAven't ran out yet, but I will if I don't get it fixed.

Amp guage never moves.

Temp guage is off badly, but does work. It ready really low when the truck is at full operating temp. I suspect the wrong sensor?

When the radio works well it's got great sound, but it comes and goes with bumps in the road.

Still need to replace that turn signal handle.

I did install some new cloth seats from a minivan. Lots of mods and welding, but got it done and turned out decent.

I also need to order some new mirrors. These keep folding in on their own.

There is a vibration that I fear may be an axle bearing going out.

I need to check all the fluids and tire pressure.

Happy that I got to fix something today. The mirrors kept folding in by themselves. Just had to unscrew them and tighten a spring that increased resistance. They are pretty stiff now.

Got to work on it for a few hours today.

Lubed the speedo cable - supect that I will need to replace it though

Spent most of my time with the guages. I think there may be a common problem, but I haven't been able to figure it out yet.

Replaced the temp guage sending unit.

Amp guage works now - suspect it was a dirty connection.

Checked all fluids except diffs, t-case, and manual trans. They all need to be flushed, but they were full. Air down tires from 48psi to 40psi. Max was 50psi.

Worked on the ebrake system. The pedal was really low and woudln't return to top. I found the drivers side adjuster cable was off which had it way out of adjustment and also that cable was siezed up. Replaced that cable and shoes and it works much better. I found out the passenger side also needs to be replaced. It works, but too much resistance.

Tracked down a horn problem - need the part that rides on the back of the steering wheel as a connection.

Checked wheel bearings - they seem ok to me.

Fixed loose exhaust.

Temp sensor replacement fixed that problem. I got the oil sender, but didn't install it so I could see if it was the sender or the gauge. I'll install it when I can. I lef the speedo cable loose and it made no noise. I think lubing it might have done the trick. I hooked it up, so I'll see how it does on the way home.

Did lots of work to it. In general I have most of the stuff fixed.

Speedo cable is quite with lube.

Replaced the oil sender unit. Works great now.

Checked speedo gear to correct for bigger tire - not possible. Only solution is better axle gears.

Fixed a rattle from exhaust tip.

Replaced the other ebrake cable and new shoes. Still need to adjust it.

Fixed horn.

Fixed turn signal lever.

Fixed rattle of transfer case handle.

To do:

Gas guage now works somewhat. It was empty and showed 1/8 to 1/4 tank which is has shown since I got it. I unplugged and replugged the tank connector. After I filled it the gauge shows a tank and a half. Need to check and clean connection.

Diagnosed the radio - bad connections and bad radio. Going to install CD player when I get an install kit.

Still need to replace sun visors.

Need to work on the trim around the seats some more.

I've noticed an occasional clunking sound when I start moving. Sounds like driveshaft or axle, but can't find a problem. Seems like it's coming from the rear.

Amp gauge doesn't work.

4x4 light in gauges doesn't work. Bulbs checked good, so probably sensor in transfer case.

The buzzer that reminds you the headlights are on doesn't work.

At higher speeds there is a bit of vibration. I suspect tire balance.

Loose connection with dome light. If you smack it then it works. I suspect rust on the connectors.

Ok, this is just a list so I can mark things off as I go. This post will be edited as I fix things.

Gas gauge - reads way off. Half a tank shows empty. Full shows tank and half. Plan to replace gauge.

Radio - ordered speakers and CD install kit.

Sunvisors - need to replace

Seats - need some trim work done

fixed by replacing guage Amp gauge - doesn't work

4x4 lights on dash don't work

hightlights on key off buzzer doesn't work

vibrations bad above 70mph

fixed by getting driveshaft rebuilt - occasional clunking when I first start rolling - seems to have gone away since I fixed ebrakes

dome light has loose connection

fixed by securing vent - window rattle on drivers side - vent rattles

axle - need 3.73 gears to correct for tire size

dash has been painted and flaked off

roof needs painting

clutch needs adjusting

A/C doesn't work
