2009 Mountain City race shedule and info !!!

Lot's of race threads so this could be a fun year
EastTN4x4 dot com is proud to announce the Shull's Farm 4x4 Truck race season.

Race dates

April 18th

May 16th

June 20th

July 18th

Off in August because of Doug Haynes ( bansil ) yearly Toy run

And a big weekend Sept 4th,5th, and 6th.

This will be on the same course as in Nov. We will be changing it some.

We will be adding tires and logs to the play area as well as spreading out the tires(we have more big ones).

We are looking at combining both 50' mud pits and making a 100' one out of them.

The season will run something like this(more details etc. will be finalized later)

There will be an overall winner announced in Sept. as well as overall winner in each class.

The classes will be 4cyl,6cyl and V8.

Each event will will have an Overall winner and Class winners.

We planned race dates around holidays and big events going on thru the year to hopefully give everyone 1 or 2 weeks between events to fix their junk.

Give some feedback folks..........let us know what you want.

Here is the link to the NC4x4 forum for the race also.

we don't have any competition for you, unless you have several of these or friends with them,if so I'm sure The owner of the farm would like for you all to race against each other,he will be racing motorcycles, atv's and wants to race side by sides also.He might be interested.
Let me know

Neat buggy by the way, 8)

Bansil and I have been talkin about the mud pit and it will be a just for fun pit that will be 50 feet wide and 100 feet long.

How deep it will be we are not too sure as of right now. We still need to get with the owner of the property and find out what he plans to do to the pits.

The classes are for engine size only we are not including tire size in the classes this year cause after the last race we noticed that tire size does not help or hinder the drivers chances at winning.

If ya have any ideas or suggestions let us know.

We will not be running a mud race because of time restraints with the other race.

if you have a deep (bog) pit, tire size matters. if it's a shallow (drag) pit, engine size matters. if it's for fun , classes don't matter. alot of our trucks are too top heavy for drag pits. we rolled a truck and a jeep last year. lucky nobody hurt. it shouldn't take any more time to do a competition bog than a for fun. if you have a good pit, you'll have to pull people out anyhow so we could measure where they stop. competition just makes it more worthwhile.

I don't think it's in the budget to rent the equipment to make a real bogg. We will talk to the land owner though. Do you have access to something that coudl dig it out if he lets us?
